Global Football, a division of Global Sports Group, Inc. is owned and operated by Patrick Steenberge, former quarterback for Notre Dame and former partner of American Football Travel International. Patrick played quarterback and lettered two seasons under Coach Ara Parseghian at Notre Dame. He brings over 27 years of business background to this organization, having specialized in communications, special events production, and marketing. Over the past few years Steenberge has organized the following events and tours: Global Junior Championship @ Super Bowl (1997-2004), Aztec Bowl in Mexico (1997-2004), and Volcano Bowl @NFL Pro Bowl (1998-2000) with tours to England, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Mexico. Patrick also helped coordinate the Notre Dame Alumni Football Team Tour and Game in Hamburg, Germany in July 2000.
He has personally developed solid working relationships with the top football organizations in the world, including: American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), NFL International, NFL Europe, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., European Federation of American Football (EFAF), American Football Federation of Mexico, and others.
Mission Statement
The Global Sports Group is a sports special events and international travel organization providing the opportunity for young amateur athletes from different countries to compete against one another, while experiencing and learning firsthand about each other's cultures. Our primary sport is American football, with the mission of Uniting the Youth of the World Through American Football. We also produce swimming events and tours around the world, with the ability to broaden into other team sports as the demand arises, utilizing the athletic event and foreign travel as the learning forum.
