HISTORY:
In the summer of 2007 JAFA (Japanese American Football Association) hosted the IAFA (International American Football Association) Senior World Cup in Kawasaki , Japan , building upon the fact that the Japanese National Junior Team had competed in the NFL Global Jr. Championship since 2000, staged in each Super Bowl city. With this background, JAFA is eager to continue supporting international competition at the highest level, thus the creation of the U19 KAWASAKI BOWL 2008.

TEAMS:
Kawasaki Bowl 2008 will feature national teams of 40 players each representing Japan and the United States , playing one game. All players will be age 19 and under, with the USA team comprised of graduating high school seniors.

JAFA- Japanese American Football Association and USA Football

PRODUCTION:
JAFA and Global Football, Inc.

DATES:
March 16-24, with the actual KAWASAKI BOWL being played Saturday, March 22.

Team USA will travel to San Diego March 13, train there the 14 th , travel to Tokyo the 15 th , then return to the USA on Monday March 24.

SITE:
Kawasaki , Japan , just outside Tokyo

Practices to be held in area host schools facilities

PAYMENT:
While we are receiving some financial assistance from USA Football and JAFA, you are asked to pay a fee of $2495 to for this all-inclusive 12-day tour. This fee covers everything once you arrive in San Diego , until you return to Los Angeles . You will need to arrange your transport from home to San Diego and from LAX home. COACHES:
Team USA Head Coach, Jeff Scurran of Santa Rita High School , Tucson , Arizona ,

State Semi-finalist 2007; 3x state champion, Arizona High School Hall of Fame; nationally recognized motivational speaker and clinic director for Bigger, Faster, Stronger. A select staff of assistant coaches from across America will join him.

GLOBAL FOOTBALL:
Headed by President Patrick Steenberge , a former Notre Dame Quarterback and high school All-American at Erie Cathedral Prep.

Over the past 13 years Global Football has produced football games in 15 nations.

Working partners include USA Football, NFL, Super Bowl Host Committees, American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Notre Dame, Penn State , Pop Warner, and numerous Division III colleges as well as National Football Federations worldwide.
