Jacksonville Youth Dancers and Pop Warner Football Youngsters To Perform at NFL GJCIX Halftime Show
February 03, 2005

MORE THAN 120 Jacksonville youngsters will entertain the crowd during halftime at the Championship Game of the NFL Global Junior Championship IX at The Bolles School on Saturday, February 5. Teams USA and Canada will contest the tournament finale.

Attitudes Performing Arts Studio and Jacksonville Centre of the Arts will perform ‘Kids in America, Uniting the Globe through American Football’ after four Pop Warner Football teams scrimmage to demonstrate their skills. The Championship Game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. following the battle for third place between Mexico, Japan and France, which begins at 11:00 a.m. The teams completed first round action on Wednesday.
There will be 50 dancers aged between nine and 18, who are being professionally trained and have experience dancing on a local, state and national level. The dancers come from the Jacksonville Centre of the Arts, directed by Mrs. Kezia Justice, and Attitudes Performing Arts Studio owned and directed by Mrs. Rhodesia Butler.

Mrs. Butler, who will also choreograph the performance, teaches Sociology, Psychology, and African American History at Ribault Senior High School where rehearsals are being held. She has owned Attitudes for 12 years and has choreographed many local, state and national events including NFL half-time shows and other talent and fashion show events for the Green Bay Packers.

Since 1929, the Pop Warner Programs Philosophy has been that athletics and scholastics go hand in hand. At every level, Pop Warner programs seek to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and dance but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.

Players are matched by age and weight levels, there are strict mandatory equipment requirements and Pop Warner provides Coaching Clinics and Risk Management Training and enforces a national rulebook, which incorporates time-tested rules.
