Global Youth Jamboree

2005 GLOBAL YOUTH JAMBOREE HEADS TO CANCUN
|
Building upon the success of the inaugural Global Youth
Jamboree, while greatly improving both the playing fields and
host hotel, the 2005 edition will return to the world-class
resort of Cancun, Mexico. The event will be held July 10-17,
and plans are for 16 youth teams of the Midget Division as defined
by Pop Warner, eligible to compete.
Participating teams will be those registered and with deposits
paid, based on a first come-first served basis!
While the host city will be the same, many aspects will be enhanced
to better satisfy the needs of both the teams and their followers
who are expected to come from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama
and Europe. The practices and games will be played on the campus
of LaSalle University, a private school where head coach Pepe
Romero has built an outstanding American football program, the
Hurricanes. Two finely manicured natural grass fields will be
used for all the football action.
When not playing football, the players, coaches, parents and
fans will be able to enjoy the comforts and amenities of one
of the finest 5-Star resorts in Mexico, the newly remodeled
Gran Caribe Real Hotel (www.realresorts.com.mx/caribe_real)
With over 600 total rooms, 3 spacious swimming pools, 4 incredible
restaurants, 3 lounges, health club, tennis courts, meeting
rooms, games and activities, nightly rooftop shows, and white
sand beach, the all-inclusive resort will provide a wonderfully
special destination for all.

The 16 teams will be divided into 4 divisions/2 conferences,
with each team playing the three other teams in its division
in a two-quarter mini-game; two on Tuesday and one on Friday.
Then, the teams within each conference will play each other
based on their division standings (example- 1st place Division
A vs 1st place Division B), resulting in two separate conference
champions, and so forth. These games will also consist of two
quarters, so in the end each team will have played the equivalent
of one full game each day of competition.
Due to the size of the total group, we are able to offer deeply
discounted prices for our teams and guests. Final packages will
be available soon, and will be handled by Anthony Travel of
Dallas, Global Football’s travel partner. Complete ground
and air packages will be available soon, as well as more details
on the Jamboree format, daily itinerary, etc.
